Continental Siding: Honored as Business of the Year by the Independence Chamber of Commerce
In a year filled with challenges and uncertainties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Continental Siding stood out as a shining example of resilience and community support. We are so proud that the Independence Chamber of Commerce named us the 2020 Business of the Year for our outstanding contributions and dedication to the local community.
Prioritizing Volunteerism During Challenging Times
At Continental Siding, charitable efforts are at the heart of our business philosophy. The pandemic did not hinder our commitment to giving back. Instead, under Alec Cook’s leadership, we embraced a “100 Days of Giving” program from the outset of the stay-at-home order, leading by example with significant donations and vital assistance to those in need.
Making a Positive Impact on the Community
Our charitable initiatives, such as supporting City Union Mission with a $10,000 donation, providing 30,000 meals to Harvesters, and assisting single mothers in need, reflect our determination to be part of the solution during challenging times. Additionally, our staff received pay bonuses and “someone in need” bonuses, fostering a culture of generosity and compassion within our company.
A Strong Business Rooted in Values
To us, success as a business extends beyond sales volume—it’s about making a tangible difference in the lives of our community members. Alec Cook’s commitment to conducting business ethically and compassionately perfectly aligns with the Chamber’s values. As he often emphasizes, “I care much more about how we do business than how much business we do.”
Moving Forward: From 2020 On
Receiving the 2020 Business of the Year award from the Independence Chamber of Commerce was a humbling and proud moment for Continental Siding. It reaffirms our belief that unity, support, and giving back are fundamental aspects of building a strong and resilient community. We remain dedicated to continuing our contributions and making a positive impact in the lives of those we serve. Together, we stand stronger, and we will navigate future challenges with the same spirit of determination and care.
