How Continental Siding Led Kansas City Businesses Through the Pandemic
Oct 09, 2023When the pandemic hit, and small businesses were forced to shut their doors, the resulting isolation from our community was palpable. It was a time when the bonds that held us together were strained, and we needed leaders to step forward and support one another. Our owner, Alec Cook, recognized this call to action and wasted no time in organizing a group of community leaders to assist the local chamber.
A Helping Hand From Community Leaders
Tom Lesnak, the President of the Independence Chamber, understood that the pandemic had ushered in extra challenges. The chamber needed the support of some of its larger members and even businesses that had never been part of the chamber before. Alec played a pivotal role in creating a new tier of businesses, elevating them to the status of “Community Leader.” These were businesses that didn’t just adapt; they led during a time when our community needed strong and visionary leadership.
Strength in Unity: Chamber and Community
Tom pointed out that our Community Leaders grasp a fundamental truth: “As the chamber goes, so goes the community.” It became clear that maintaining our strength and standing within the community was vital to supporting businesses of all sizes, from the smallest local shops to the largest enterprises. With this same spirit, Alec realized that he needed to make a significant impact by mobilizing a group of Community Leaders to assist the local chamber.
