As a locally owned, family-focused siding company, Continental Siding emphasizes giving back to the people and organizations that help serve our community. Alec Cook, the owner of Continental Siding, has put extensive time and effort into assisting Mother’s Refuge, a local shelter for pregnant and parenting young people and their babies. Alec was honored as Humanitarian of the Year at the 2023 Mother’s Refuge Gala, and we’re thrilled to have made a positive impact on our community by working with them.
Partnering With Mother’s Refuge
Mother’s Refuge’s mission is to support houseless, pregnant, and parenting young people and their children. The organization hosts the Night of Compassion, a yearly event that includes a silent auction, live auction, and the opportunity to give back through funding. Every year, Mother’s Refuge honors a special person who has dedicated their time and resources to their cause and other places in the community.
This year, Mother’s Refuge exceeded its goal and raised $365,000, allowing the organization to expand its services and add a transitional living program. Mother’s Refuge recognized Alec for creating new partnerships, contributing ideas, and helping people understand Missouri’s Maternity Home Tax Credit program.
Alec and the Continental Siding team proudly support Mother’s Refuge in its mission to house young families and help them thrive in safe environments.
